Ever wondered that you can make your favorite mozzarella cheese at home with only 2 ingredients at a much lower cost. Here is the recipe guide for you all.
Ingredients :
Fresh Cow Milk (Unpasteurized)- 2ltr.
White vinegar- 9.5tbsp
Method :
Wash & wipe your hands and remove any ring.
Heat milk in a deep container.
After 2mins, dip your finger to check the temperature of the milk. Do not let it boil.
When the milk becomes too hot for your finger to put inside it, turn off the heat.
Add vinegar 1tbsp at a time and stir with a wooden spoon.
Keep mixing it. As soon as you see lumps forming, bring them together to one side and try to form a ball.
Use your hands and try to squeeze extra water from the boil. But, try to keep it moist.
Remove the cheese ball from the container and reheat the remaining whey (remaining water) in the container.
Once it is very hot, place the cheese ball in it again for 5-6mins. Turn off the heat and stir occasionally.
After 5mins, bring it out of the whey water and stretch it with your hand from all sides and shape it into a round ball.
Squeeze out any extra liquid.
Place it back in the whey water for another 5mins. Do not turn on the heat.
Remove and try to make a perfect round and don’t squeeze too much.
Place the cheese ball in a muslin cloth and squeeze it for 2 secs to get extra whey out.
Remove and place in ice-cold water. Leave for 3 mins.
Then cling wrap the cheese ball if you want your cheese to be dry. If you wish to keep it fresh, place it in some of the whey water in an air-tight container.
Don’t forget to taste your fresh mozzarella, your labour of love. Melt it, grate it and use it just like your store-bought mozzarella cheese guys!
You can easily keep it for a week in the fridge in hygienic condition of course. Also, try the endless recipes you can make with your Mozzarella.
